The mission of the Asian Journal of Psychiatry is to disseminate and develop areas of knowledge and learning in mental health that are of increasing importance world-wide. In pursuit of that goal, the march 2012 issue of the Journal is poised to bring out a special theme on early intervention in psychosis, edited by Dr. Venkatasubramanian. State of the art updates of research in early intervention in psychotic disorders from India, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea among the Asian countries as well as from the US. will be featured. A later issue of the Journal will also feature a special theme on Spirituality and Psychiatry. The recurring theme of review articles in Global mental health will also continue during the upcoming issues of the Asian Journal of Psychiatry.
We hope that these topics, given their importance in the global arena, will generate substantive interest among our readers, and will also stimulate more research and application. Comments, reflections and additional scholarly articles in these topics would be very welcome.
